Colourful Layers – 3D Logo Animation

Overview

This personal project transforms a static logo into a fluid layered animation.

The concept divides the identity into several colourful strips. Each section can bend, rise and move independently before settling into its final position.

The main challenge was to keep the motion expressive without losing the logo’s structure. Therefore, the timing, spacing and direction of every strip follow the underlying geometry.

Curved sections also required smooth and continuous movement. The animation keeps them flexible while preserving enough structure to feel designed rather than loose.

Next, bright colour, graphic lighting and a clear camera angle reveal the depth between the individual layers.

Cinema 4D handled the 3D animation, while Adobe After Effects supported the final compositing and refinement.

The finished Colourful Layers animation turns the construction of the logo into a playful and readable 3D reveal.
