Beer Can Reverse Pour Fluid Simulation

A personal 3D fluid simulation exploring the reverse motion of beer flowing back into a can, created with X-Particles in Cinema 4D.

3D Proyecto personal 2021

This personal project explores fluid dynamics through a stylised beer can animation created in Cinema 4D using X-Particles.

The concept reverses the expected behaviour of a drink pour by showing the beer flowing back into the can rather than out of it. This inversion gives the piece a more playful and visually striking quality while allowing the fluid motion to become the main focus of the animation.

The project involved setting up and refining the fluid simulation, shaping the movement of the liquid around the can and adjusting the timing so that the reverse pour felt smooth, dynamic and believable. Particular attention was given to the interaction between the fluid and the product, as well as to the overall silhouette and visual flow of the splash.

Lighting, materials and rendering were developed to give the can a polished product-style finish while keeping the liquid clearly readable against the dark background. The final result is a short experimental motion piece that combines product visualisation with simulation-based animation.
