Abstract Shockwaves – 3D Particle Advection
A personal 3D motion study exploring particle advection, evolving shockwave forms and abstract visual effects using X-Particles.

This project was created as an exploration of particle advection and the way large numbers of particles can be directed into complex, evolving structures.
The main challenge was controlling particle flow and density while preserving the organic character of the simulation. Without enough direction, the particles could quickly become visually chaotic, while excessive control would remove the natural variation that gives the effect its energy.
X-Particles in Cinema 4D was used to guide the particles through layered flow patterns, creating expanding shockwave-like forms that develop and transform over time.
Particular attention was given to particle distribution, density and movement so that the different layers remained visually distinct while still interacting as part of a single evolving composition.
The final scene was rendered with Arnold, with compositing and visual refinement completed in Adobe After Effects and final editing in Adobe Premiere Pro.
The result is an abstract motion study combining particle simulation, controlled advection and layered visual effects to create complex forms from a procedural system.
