KRK Rokit 5 3D Product Visualisation
A detailed 3D product visualisation of the KRK Rokit 5 studio monitor, created from reference photography and developed through modelling, materials, lighting, rendering and animation.
Overview
This personal project explored the complete process of recreating a physical product in 3D, using the KRK Rokit 5 studio monitor as the reference.
The monitor was modelled from scratch in Cinema 4D, with close attention paid to its proportions, curved housing, front panel, speakers, bass port and smaller construction details. Clean topology and sufficient geometric detail were maintained so that the model would work effectively in both close-up renders and animation.
Once the modelling was complete, the materials and graphic details were developed to reproduce the monitor’s black casing, speaker surfaces and distinctive yellow cone. One of the main challenges was defining the form of an almost entirely black product without making the surfaces appear excessively glossy or artificial.
A controlled product-lighting setup was created to reveal the monitor’s silhouette, curves and materials through subtle highlights and reflections. The final images were rendered with Arnold, balancing shadows and surface detail to achieve a clean and realistic result.
The completed model was also used to produce a 360-degree product animation, presenting the monitor from multiple angles while allowing the lighting and materials to remain the focus. Final editing and sound were completed in Adobe Premiere Pro.
This is an unofficial personal project. KRK, Rokit and their associated trademarks belong to their respective owners.
