Radical – 3D Ribbon Logo Animation

Overview

Radical needed a short identity animation built around more than twenty thin, colourful ribbons.

The strands enter the scene, wrap into a hollow form and shift into an infinity symbol. They then unravel and assemble into the final logo.

The main challenge was to coordinate many independent elements without creating visual chaos. Each transformation also had to remain easy to recognise.

Therefore, the sequence works as one continuous movement rather than a set of separate shots. Cinema 4D controls the ribbon paths, timing, spacing and overlap.

Depth management played an important role. Clear separation preserves each colour and prevents the flat strands from becoming an unreadable mass.

Adobe After Effects then integrates the 3D animation with 2D motion graphics and final compositing. This stage refines the pacing and logo presentation within a concise 15–20 second sequence.

The finished Radical ribbon animation turns the construction of the identity into a smooth and distinctive visual idea. The client awarded it five stars and praised the quality, communication and early delivery.
